Newcastle students join the cause

Newcastle University’s Raising and Giving Society has chosen Street Zero as one of its charities to fundraise for during RAG Week, running from 25th January – 1st February 2020. The Raising and Giving Society (RAG) is responsible for all charity fundraising undertaken by Newcastle University students. Throughout the year, the students run multiple events deciding which charity they will donate funds to, whilst also giving back to the community around the local area.

Cameron Trotter, RAG co-president, said: ‘The week after January exams see the return of RAG Week, our famous seven-day fundraising event! Street Zero was chosen as one of six charities we will be raising funds for throughout the city. We are really happy to do our bit to help Street Zero on its mission to help people rough sleeping in the city. ‘Last year we raised over £103k and we’re committed to doing even better in 2020! We’re hoping for as many of our fellow students to join the society where they can have a say on how we help the causes they care about.’
