Changing Lives win Homes England Move-On bid

Changing Lives has been successful in a bid to Homes England Move-On fund to convert Elliott House, its west end crisis response unit, into 35 smaller self-contained units. Together, the charity and Newcastle City Council have recognised that the needs of the people who need emergency accommodation have become more complex over the past few years.

To more effectively meet these needs, Changing Lives with the support of the council has been looking at alternative delivery models. The newly refurbished Elliott House will provide accommodation for people ready to move on from services, with short-term homelessness relief accommodation moving to a smaller 17-bed unit offering more intensive support for individuals from early 2020.
