Local artists donate work to Street Zero

Starry Tyne III, the cover image on the Street Zero website, was kindly donated by Newcastle-based artist, Jim Edwards. Jim is best known for his painted depictions of iconic buildings and bridges of the North East. His contemporary cityscapes and abstract paintings are inspired by manmade forms and buildings. To see his full collection, visit www.jimedwardspaintings.com.

The photography throughout the Street Zero site was provided by a local photographer, John Donoghue. As a North East native, John’s passion and the focus of much of his personal collection are in and around Newcastle upon Tyne.

The images you’ll find across the website capture the beauty found in the stillness of the city during the lockdown. The photos show empty streets and closed shop fronts – depicting rare moments in the city centre.

During the lockdown, John opened his first online store for his photography and any sale that comes directly from the following link will have a percentage of it donated to Street Zero: https://john-donoghue-photographer.com.
